  • First time buyer?

    First time buyer?

We can help you make the first step on to the property ladder. We have a first home guide to help you through all the important steps to owning your own home.

  • Moving home?

    Moving home?

We can make arranging your new mortgage straightforward. Moving home can be stressful enough without also having to worry about your mortgage.

  • Remortgaging?

If you have a mortgage with another lender and you’re looking to remortgage with us, we can help you find the best deal we have.

All applications are subject to status and our current lending criteria. This means that the amount we will lend you will depend on your individual circumstances, the type of property and the amount you borrow. For example, we may require a higher deposit if you are buying a flat or a new build property.

How can we help?

Your mortgage is likely to be your biggest monthly expense, so see how we could save you money.

  • Competitive rates - choose from a great range of fixed rate and tracker rate mortgages.
  • The majority of our mortgages come with the following additional benefit:
    • Free standard valuation on a property valued up to £2.5 million.
    • Plus some of our mortgage deals also offer £250 cashback (only repayable if you repay your mortgage within the first two years).

Ways to repay your mortgage

You can choose a Repayment mortgage, an Interest-Only mortgage or a combination of the two.

Repayment mortgages

Your monthly payment is made up of ‘capital’ (the amount you’ve borrowed) and interest. As long as you keep up your payments, your mortgage will be paid off when your mortgage term ends.

Interest-Only mortgages

Your monthly payment just pays the interest you owe. As you’re only paying interest, you’ll still have to repay the capital (the amount you’ve borrowed) at the end of the mortgage term, so make sure you have a way to pay this off when the mortgage ends.

A range of options to suit you

  • Want to pay the same amount each month?
A fixed rate mortgage gives you the peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly what your payments will be each month.
  • Want to track the Bank of England base rate?
A tracker rate mortgage tracks the Bank of England base rate and your payments will increase or decrease in line with any changes.

Our mortgage process

  • Assessment

Assessment We’ll take a look at your income and outgoings and let you know how much you could borrow to ensure you can afford the monthly mortgage payments.

  • Application

Application We’ll help you apply for your mortgage and explain everything you need to know. We’ll then arrange to value your property.

  • Formal Offer

Formal Offer Once we have received confirmation of the value of your property, we’ll issue your formal offer, meaning your mortgage has been approved.

  • Completion

Completion If you’re moving house, your lawyer will finalise the move, make sure all money changes hands efficiently and let you know when you can pick up your keys.

If you’re remortgaging, we’ll liaise with your lawyer to complete the transfer from your existing lender to Santander.
